We’re only 127 days out from the release of the second Vampire Detective Agency book, Double Date! This series has been a joy to write, and I’m loving getting to play in the vampire detective / paranormal mystery genre. However, this book is only the fifth book I’ve written and only the second with romance in it. My confidence, despite early reads by friends and family, is not 100% yet.
That’s where you come in. I’m looking for folks who’d be willing to test read the most recent draft and provide feedback. The current draft is mid-polishing, so there are still some clunky dialog tags and formatting issues to be ironed out. But the story is there and the characters are getting in trouble.
This is an unpaid role, but anyone who reads and provides feedback for at least a few chapters will be listed in a Thank You section of the final book.
Test reading will happen through Story Origin’s beta reader tool. It does require signing up with them, but for readers it is free to use. In order to read the next chapter you have to put a comment or feedback in on the prior chapter.
A final note: The whole book is not yet loaded. I’m doing a small polishing pass before posting each chapter. I had hoped to be done by today, but I’m not. There’s six more chapters yet to be loaded (38 chapters total). I’ll be adding more chapters throughout this week and with some hard work I’ll have them all posted by Friday.
