The Next Case Is Coming
I’m almost done with the rough draft of my second Vampire Detective Agency book, Double Date! This means I’m confident enough in to announce the following:
I’m excited to share that my next book, Vampire Detective Agency: Double Date (both ebook and paperback) will release on Tuesday, October 13th!
Where the first book was about Veronica and Larry realizing they had feelings for each other, the second book addresses the question, “So what now?”
I love the will they? won’t they? drama of a romance novel where the two characters fall in love, but we usually don’t get to read about what comes after. This novel will pickup right after the big kiss at the end of First Bite and show you the challenges our couple face. Starting with the thorny issue of Larry’s bodily fluids burning vampires and Veronica being a thirsty kisser.
I’ve also enjoyed fleshing out the side characters who also inhabit New York City. Charles gets some time to shine in several chapters set from his point of view that show the work that goes into being a vampire detective. Yes, the sequel includes a more involved central mystery, and he’ll be right there in the middle of it.
Since the story picks up a few months from where First Bite began, it’s now Christmas time in New York City. Picturing the undead Vampires dealing with holiday shoppers and Santa’s ringing bells on street corners brings a smile to my face. It’s not spoiling anything to tell you that Veronica is not a fan of this particular holiday.
This is the middle chapter of Veronica and Larry’s whirlwind romance saga and we’ll once again get a happy for now ending. You’ll see how they get to their forever happy ever after in book three, Three Hairy Suitors, which I’m not ready to start teasing yet because of the dramatic way book two ends. Spoiler: Seriously, you thought I’d share them here? You’ll have to wait and buy a copy!
