First, many thanks to the Hillsboro Public Library for letting me have a table at their YA & Adult Local Author Event. As first public appearances go it was a great way to dip my feet into the whole process. Much was learned, a few books were sold, and many compliments were paid to the table cloth I found on Amazon.
My takeaway from the event is that I need a better elevator pitch for SHEPHERDS OF LOST THINGS. I went into Saturday thinking I had my pitch honed, but the vacant stares from readers told me that the balls were flying wildly into the stands. There are authors like Nenia Campbell who post great pitches on Threads and I need to take a page from them. Next time.
Many thanks to my wonderful beautiful lovely wife Marie for keeping me company during the four hour event. I would say she deserves a treat, but she bought books from other authors. In fact, I think we may have come home with more books than we left with. Haha.
Anyway, if you came out and stopped by my table, Thank You.
